Free School Meal & Pupil Premium Entitlement

Pupil premium:  The pupil premium is a grant given by the government to schools in England to decrease the attainment gap for the most disadvantaged children, whether by income or by family upheaval. The government believes that poverty or low income is the single most important factor in predicting a child’s future chance, with many pupils in low income families having low attainment by the age of 16.  The government believes that the Pupil Premium is the best way to ensure that funding to tackle disadvantages reaches the pupils who need it most and is up to the school to determine how it is spent.
