PE Information25 February 2025 (by admin) |
Dear Parents/Carers,
As a school, we follow the national curriculum for PE, which states:
'PE is a mandatory part of the national curriculum from KS1 to KS4. Maintained schools in England are legally required to follow the national curriculum as a piece of statutory guidance.'
As a school we have designed a PE curriculum to ensure that all children, regardless of their abilities or backgrounds, can enjoy physical education and experience a diverse array of sports.
We have designed our timetables, to ensure that pupils have PE weekly, with a variation of indoor and outdoor sports.
Children should be in the correct PE kit; plain black tracksuit bottom or shorts (with no stripes or logos), a maroon coloured PE t-shirt and plain black trainers (no stripes or other coloured markings). Earrings should also be removed for PE purposes in line with health and safety guidance.
If your child is unwell or has an injury and you have medical evidence from a GP stating that they are unable to take part in PE, please inform the office and class teacher with the correct medical evidence attached. Your child can sit out of the PE lessons for the time stated by the GP.
